Chocolate @ the library

Douglas Library — Saturday July 20th — 1 to 3 pm

Today I want to:

     a) Learn about chocolate

     b) Eat chocolate

     c) Have fun with friends

     d) All of the above

Not to give it away or anything, but you should really answer ‘d’ and make your way to the Douglas Library on Saturday.

From 1-2 pm we will have a videoconference with the Royal Botanical Gardens where they will teach all about the life cycle of the Cacao tree.  We will also explore how humans have used and processed cacao from the time of the Mayans and Aztecs, to pre-industrial Europe and finally to the present.  Then, from 2-3 pm we will play games and have activities that celebrate chocolate, all while consuming it thanks to Pie in the Sky.

Mmmm, chocolate and knowledge.  Sounds like a winning combination to me!
