November is National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo)! Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to write 50,000 words in the month of November. In our effort to support writers, the Juneau Public Library will be hosting four different events which might interest you.
Tuesday, November 5th, 6:00pm, Douglas Library. NaNoWriMo Launch and write-in;
–Meet other writers, talk about your books, and have a write in at the library. Snacks and beverages provided.
Saturday, November 9th, 1:00pm, Douglas Library. Fiction writing workshop with Kij Johnson.
–Kij Johnson is a Hugo award winning writer and author of three novels and over 30 short works of fiction. She will be leading a writing workshop from 1-3pm. Space is limited so please register in advance at 586-0442 or firstname.lastname@example.org
Tuesday, November 19th, 6:00pm, Mendenhall Valley Library. NaNoWriMo write-in.
–Check in with your fellow participants, discuss your progress (or lack thereof), share plot twists, and have a brainstorming session. Snack and beverages provided.
Tuesday, December 3rd, 6:00pm, Douglas Library. NaNoWriMo Completion Celebration!
–Celebrate the end of November! Share how you got through it and your plans for the future. Snack and beverages provided.
