What to Read??
May 23, 2006
Don’t know what to read next?
Well you came to the right place, that’s what the Juneau Public Library Book Blog is for. On this site you will find entries including book recommendations, web-based reader’s advisory services, articles linking to popular reads and more. For books and magazines listed on this site, all links will lead to Worldcat.org which is a public interface that allows you to search the world’s (nearly) library holdings and based on your IP address, the search feature will pull up your zip code and find libraries near you that have the book. Of course you could buy the book online, but as a library service we seek to promote the incredible collections we have available for free to our patrons. If you don’t see the item available at a library near you, ask at your library about Inter-Library Loan services which are often available to you for free.

In addition try using the FIND A BOOK function and whether you have a favorite author, favorite book or favorite subject you’ll get a list of books complete with cover art and plot descriptions. There is also a local chapter of Guys Read, a Father/son book club that meets at the Juneau Public Library August-May.
